This vintage Gitzo is about 45 years old but still functions beautifully. I bought this new for my Questar telescope because of its sturdiness. It has proven itself to be a very stable platform for the Questar. This thing is bit of a beast; it weighs about 15 pounds and is built like a tank. What... really shines about this particular model is its versatility. It extends to a maximum height (with head) of 112 inches, and goes down to a minimum (again, with head) of 36 inches. If you need to go lower, the head can be mounted on the bottom of the column rather than the top. It was always rock-solid. This was used very lightly but after 45 years, there are minimal signs of age, but it's all cosmetic. This includes a minor paint scratch and some slightly discolored plastic. These in no way affect performance. All of the locks on the legs and head are snug and sure. Most of the rubber grip rings on the legs have come off but you can still lock and unlock the legs.I used it most recently with my Questar observing the 2017 eclipse and everything works fine.This is bulky and awkward to pack for shipping, hence high shipping cost.I will accept payment via PayPal.
