You are bidding on a gold 1 Tremissis coin from the Roman Empire that was minted between 403 to 408 A.D.. This coin was minted when the Western Roman Empire was ruled by the Emperor Honorius who reigned from 393 to 423 A.D.. The obverse design of the coin features a pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Honorius facing right with the legend "D N HONORI VS P F AVG" around his bust and the reverse design of the coin features an image of Victory advancing to the rig...ht with her head turned left while holding a wreath and a globus cruciger with a star to the right of Victory and with the legend "VICTORIA AVGVSTORVM" around the image and the "CONOB" mintmark(for Constantinople) below the image. This coin is listed as S#20945 in Sear's Roman Coins And Their Values: Volume V. This coin is 14 mm in diameter and weighs 1.47 gms. This coin was originally purchased by me from Heritage Auctions in April 2014 for $646.25 from the CICF World And Ancient Coins Signature Auction held in Chicago. It is in Mint State condition and has been certified and graded by NGC as being MS with a Sub-Heading of Strike: 5/5 and Surface: 3/5. The coin looks very nice as you can see from the posted photos but please look at the posted photos and make your own determination as to the overall grade and appearance of this coin.
