Introductory essay (in German) by Erich... Prieger. Deckle-edged, fine paper. Published by Albert Frisch, Berlin. Black boards with gold lettering. Spine intact, occasional splitting internally but no loose pages. some wear at corner edges. A very acceptable copy for such an old volume! A prior owner has pasted in a photo of the Beethoven Monument ("Beethovendenkmal") in Vienna along with some handwritten notations, dated 1957. Not intrusive, and touching in its own way. (Please note: The attached photos were taken under bright lighting. The light smudges on the front cover are far less noticeable under normal lighting.)
Other than major public and academic libraries, you would be one of only a small number of private collectors to own this gem. Often the most difficult to find for those hoping to collect the entire available published Beethoven autograph facsimiles.
