1950’s – #21 BLUE ELECTRO OPEN WHEEL RACER By: YONEZAWA TOYS/TOMMYBEAUTIFUL EXCELLENT TO NEAR MINT CONDITION Yonezawa Toys made twoversions of this race car. They made a Red and a Blue version. From what I understand the production of this racer was limited.Also boxes were either stamped “Red” or “Blue”. Toy marking are“Electro Special, “Y” Yonezawa, ETC (Tommy). Battery compartment holds (1) one“D” battery. There is a forward/reverse lever to the left of the... helmeteddriver. How many exist inworking condition and with original parts is unknown. On page 209 of the book“The Big Book of Tin Toy Cars” by Ron Smith and William C. Gallagher in whichBerry is acknowledged, it states that these toy race cars can be very scarce. I have examined the carmany times and I know it is a beautiful blue all original version except thebattery cover which I had professionally replaced. The carhas near perfect color and detail.
