This Sony NT-2 is in great condition and works well and sounds good (recording and playback were both tested & confirmed working). A cross between DAT and a Walkman cassette, the Sony NT was a miniature version that never took off. Now scarce, as these where expensive when new as well. Works as a portable on a single AA battery. Comes with 32 tapes, all of which have music on them; for listening or you can record over the old material. Clean overall cosmetically, it shows light wear ma...rks from normal age and use; battery compartment shows no damage. Pictured below is a size comparison of the postage stamp sized NT cassette and a standard cassette. Pdf manual is available for free from Sony web site. It features a real-time clock that records a time signal on the digital track along with the sound data, making it useful for journalism, police and legal work. Due to the machine's buffer memory, it is capable of automatically reversing the tape direction at the end of the reel without an interruption in the sound. Very cool technology circa 1996.
