Original Description:
Scarce little telegraph pocket  set manufactured by the Western Electric Company in the 1870's.  This pocket set incorporates both a sounder and a small "camel back" key within the so-called "gutta percha" or hard rubber pocket case with cover.  The overall condition is excellent with the exception of the crack in the cover as shown in the photograph. The arm of the key is marked "WESTERN ELECTRIC CO. CHICAGO." The dimensions of the case are 5 inches by 2 ...1/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches.
