I have just added a few pics for the person concerned that I was posting pics of Triple Crown weights and trying to push them off as American Shuffleboard weights. The stickers on the weights do say triple crown on them but I assure you these are American Pucks. I have now removed the stickers to avoid confusion and also put up a pic of an actual set of Triple Crown pucks next to this American set. American weights have replaceable screw on caps.Triple crowns caps pop in and they have ...a little piece on the underside of the cap that permanently spreads the stem of the cap apart so that they will not separate unless completely broken apart. These stickers are cheap and readily available. If you want a set of stickers with this set of pucks then I'll send you a new set as soon as I can get them sent to me. These will probably not stick back on very well at this point. Some people just put 1-4 dots on them with fingernail polish or a sharpie even. In the side by side comparison shot you can see where I have removed one of the screw on caps as well as the stickers. The added value in these weights is not because they are antique it's because they are supposed to be better quality than the pucks made in China mostly today. At least the steel was mostly coming from there now and then some mfg's take that steel and then finish them out themselves as far as drilling and surfacing the bottoms to a certain flatness which determines the speed of the individual puck. The China steel thing might be in the process of turning around now with the trade war going on.
Only serious shuffleboard players would bother numbering their pucks. Pro's as well as armatures can tell that some weights are faster or slower than other weights in the set. My farther Sam who was a professional shuffleboard player here in Oklahoma City (as well as all around the country) told me that these older American Shuffleboard pucks / weights were just much better quality than what has been available for the last 20-30 years. He told me years ago before he passed away not to sell sets like these for less than 600.00. That the Pro's would pay that price if only they could get their hands on them. Condition is used but they look great other than the yellowing on the original stickers. I have 4 of these old sets total if anyone is interested in making an offer for more than one set. I also have a couple really cool looking, old tooled leather shuffleboard puck cases if anyone is interested in those. Like my farther once did I own a Billiard Supply here in OKC. called A.J. Gill Billiards / Solids-N-Stripes. Our website is www.solidsnstripes.com. This set of pucks is NOT available there but much of our product is with more and more product being added to our website each day. The cases shown in the pics are not included in this auction. Please contact me if you have any questions before bidding. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
