Up for auction is a tin friction 1956 or 1957 Oldsmobile car made by Ichiko of Japan. The car measures 10 1/4 inches or 27 centimeters long. The car is in very good condition with a couple of parts that are not original to the car. There are two hubcaps that were hand painted for this car and the thin center strip down the front center of the car is not original. From looking at photographs of this car, it is very close to the original. Everything else is original to the car. The... two tone paint is all original with the exception of three very small paint touch ups on the roof of the car. The blue/green paint of the body is all original and it has a very nice gloss. There is some crazing around the car where the base meets the sides of the car. The interior is in beautiful condition with no repairs. The window celluloid is also original and it is in pretty good condition, just pulling away from the frame a little on one side. The chrome trim has been polished to a nice shine; there are a few areas where the copper shows through a little. The base is in very good condition with a little wear; the friction motor does not work. This is a pretty hard to find car. I hate to use the word "rare" because it is so over used but this really is a rare car. It is a long way from perfect but it does display very well and what areas were "restored" were done with respect and love for the original. The last photo shows the car as pictured on page 160 of the wonderful Big Book of Tin Toy Cars. As you can see, the rarity rating is 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Thanks for looking!!!! Questions are welcome and I will be happy to provide additional photos. Shipping will be 9.50 in the U.S.; overseas shipping will vary by country and method of shipping. Paypal is preferred for payment and within 48 hours of end of auction, please. Thanks again!!!On Sep-02-19 at 04:44:47 PDT, seller added the following information: ******The blue green paint of the body is all original and it is in very good condition. There is a little crazing in the paint where the body of the car meets the base. For some reason my photos make the car look more blue than the beautiful blue/green the car really is. The car is closer to the blue/green of the last photo from the Big Book of Tin Toy Cars but a little more blue. The paint is one of the nicest colors I have ever seen and there are absolutely no touch ups in the paint. (There are the above mentioned three small touch ups in the light blue paint of the top of the car.) Thanks again!!******
