RARE & SUPERBLY CARVED CHINESE YELLOW JADE FU LION MYTHICAL BEAST FIGURE w STAND Hello, thank you for having a look at our auctions. This week we are offering a choice selection of top quality Chinese art objects from the important Cowperthwaite family collection. The collection's origins date back to the earlier 20th century when the family resided in the UK. During the mid 20th century the family was instrumental in establishing Hong Kong as an open market leading the way to the crea...tion of one of the most powerful and important market places in the world. Up for auction is a VERY RARE & SUPERBLY CARVED CHINESE YELLOW JADE FU LION MYTHICAL BEAST FIGURE w STAND. This figure is a superb quality example carved of a very rare and prominent yellow jade. The figure is fully carved throughout including the base side that also has fine details. By the exceptional qualities I believe this figure would date from the 18th to 19th century and may have been carved within the Imperial workshops. This figure is one of a few great quality jades being offered in this week’s estate sale
Condition: The figure could use a light cleaning and is otherwise in very fine estate-fresh condition with no damage and no repairs.
Size: The figure measures 2 5/8 inches long, by 1 3/4 inches wide and 1 inch tall. The figure weighs 105 grams.
