Centennial (2 x 4) Pool CaseMike Bergman made Centennial Cases in Houston, Texas, through the 1980's and into the 1990's. These cases were made in the Fellini style, but with hardwood caps at the top and bottom. There is no lock. The case is sealed with a teflon friction ring similar to an "O" ring, which provides enough pressure to hold the lid on firmly. They were supposed to be the cases that cue maker Richard Black included with his higher end cues.This case is pre-owned and the we...ar is what you would expect from a case from the 1990s. There are some scratches and worn spots on the leather (see pictures). The leather has faded some. The wood on the lid has a small chip. However, the lid still fits and seals tightly, and I think that's what is most important and valuable about these cases. I believe there were less than 100 of these 2 butts, 4 shafts (2 x 4) Centennial Cases ever made, so they are very rare and sought after. I did not attempt to restore this case because some purists may not want the original case to be tampered with and may like the vintage look. Nevertheless, with a little know how and a small investment (wood filler, leather dye, etc.) one could definitely restore this case to its former glory.
