2 boots in total. By the 1860′s the vast expanses of turf would have been mown using horse drawn mowers.Horse drawn mowers were developed in the 1830′s. Previously lawns were managed using scythes . To protect the turf from damage from the horses’ hooves the horses were fitted with leather booties. The boots are complete and in good displayable condition.measuring aprox 6" x 5.1/4" x 4 " HighIn antique displayable condition.
In 1820 there were no mechanised garden tools. 18c lawns were rolled flat and scythed.
1831 pull/push 19” cylindrical mowers made by Budding and one was bought by Regents Park.
