This is a beautiful original, antique, example of the 1874 Augustus Mitchell's New General Atlas. Approx. 11 1/2" x 15 1/2" (Quatro). If you would like to see any of the maps in this atlas just ask, The cover has some scuffing but the binding is tight, so tight I'm afraid to open it wide. Beautiful hand colored maps. The main damage is a less than pea size stain (Tan) on the map of Africa and a less than pea size hole above the name on the Detroit map, that also impacts Lake Michigan. ...There is slight edge tanning and some edge stain but nothing that impacts the maps. Some minimal small dot foxing on a few back sides. I hate to sound to excited but I am! It's just a lovely find.
