The train itself is in perfect condition and appears to have never been used.
This is one of a group of modern era trains coming from this collection that was purchased in the early 80's at various train shows.I have already sold a portion of these that went for very high prices and therefore these have the potential to be extremely rare and valuable as well. I only know what is written on the box, otherwise please judge from the photos if these are potentially rare trains. There's a possibility that the dealer this man was buying from had direct access to someone who worked in the Hillside, NJ office since these trains seem to be very rare. Tonight I am listing a large lot of modern Lionel trains coming from an estate collection. These belonged to a man who never married or had kids and spent most of his money buying trains his entire life. He had several rooms in his home dedicated to his train collection. He purchased many of them from private dealers by mail or at trade shows. In the 1980s and 1990s he was buying trains new, but would never take them out of the box. He was an engineer by trade, so I can only assume he took good care of these trains mechanically. I am not a train expert, so please view the photos and place your bids accordingly.Please be patient with shipping times. We will combine shipping where possible.None of the trains and/or accessories have been tested in any way. Please expect to clean and oil these once you receive them as they have been sitting in storage for many years.
