Original Description:
This amazing painting my Mose Tolliver was purchased from the artist himself in the mid-1970s, by my mother. He told her it was based on a photograph from Playboy magazine. I believe it. But whatever erotic possibilities the photo might have been going for are not translated to the painting; instead, it's a sad portrait of a lonely woman who would rather not be where she is. Beautiful.
