Manufacturer: made in England around 1940s by Charles Baker factory, famous optical and scientific instrument manufacturer based in Holborn, London, you can see factory pictured in 1930s catalogue, photo №11. Having been in microscope business from 1850s until 1960s when it was acquired by Vickers. Company produced and traded almost all types of microscopes, however loupes are very rare to find....r>
Optics and housing: Glass lens is 19mm diameter with 6x magnification power. This loupe has a very high resolution and a good field of view if compared to similar loupes when lens is in it's original undamaged condition. Durable nickel-plated metall housing, feels both elegant and solid in the hand. Dimensions: 8, 2cm unfolded length. (3 1/8").
Condition: Unfortunately lens has major scratches and other imperfections that do affect image produced by magnifier, it still can be used, but there will be some blur in the image (photos №8-10), housing has no damage, just some usual age-related wear, hinge has a smooth action with no play.
