Rare Early 19th Century Pearlware Pottery Transfer Print Puzzle Jug, Superb!
DIMENSIONS: Approximately 16.5cm tall overall
ITEM DETAILS: To be extremely fussy this beautiful piece of English transfer printed pearlware has some normal age related glaze crazing, a couple of lines of which have darkened under the base (This isn't a crack, it's purely superficial and doesn't penetrate into the jug), and there are a couple of normal insignificant glaze imperfections c...aused during firing (see photos) but aside from this the whole jug is in absolutely mint condition and as bright as a button with no trace of damage, repairs, restoration or significant wear and looks like it has spent its entire life in a cabinet. It really is probably the best preserved piece of early 19th century pearlware I've ever seen and also one of the rarest. It's a real gem that would look great in any collection, and as always there's a low start and no reserve so happy bidding!
