Henry Taylor swimmer, representing Great Britain at 1908 Olympics in London, won a record three gold medals at one Olympic Games - the most by any Briton. Gold medals for 400m and 1500m as well as the 4x200m freestyle relay.This record stood for 100 years until it was equaled by cyclist Sir Chris Hoy at Beijing in 2008 .
The card shows Henry Taylor and William. H. Haynes, Scottis...h Champion swimmer, in anticipation of their meeting at Carnegie Swimming Club 1st May 1907.
The quality of the card is outstanding for its age, marred only by the barely noticeable pin-hole center of card.
