If you do not mind to make knitting manipulations by hand but still knit with speed and quality much greater than hand knitting, th...is is machine for you. With this machine you can knit everything as you could do by hand or with sophisticated and expensive knitting machine (see my picture of theskirt and sweater I knitted on this machine, sucks, and mitten sewed on the goto make them round)This machine is quite easy to use. First, you e-wrap on, just slightly different than the modern machines, you have small "sinkers" between each needle that have a projection on the lower side that your e-wrap goes around as you e-wrap your needles. Not difficult with a tiny bit of practice. It does not use cast-on combs or weights. Thanks to these sinkers, it knits off nicely each row and holds the knitting down where it cannot jump off the needles at the same time. It knits the stitches through and brings the needles out to upper working position so could lay your yarn across for the next row. You have complete visibility of the stitches as they knit. You also have access to knitting in any yarns at any point. Hand transferred lace and hand latched ribbing are easily done too.
It sits on 2 rubber suction cup-like feet (old) that hold it nicely on the table. But if you substitute them with two plates and attach machine to the table with 2 brackets (provided) you will immobilize machine for easy knitting. The tilt of the bed is a very easy to work with. Instruction manual is well written with good pictures and diagrams. To make a rib, you must unravels already knitted stitches with thefrequency you choose and then knit with the latch tool.
You can make any shape you want by reducing/increasing the number of the stitches using transferring tool or use short row method (see manual). You also could knit a fabric and then cut and sew just use the serger for the edges.
You can use vide range of yarn thickness. You can find a lot of video for a flatbed knitting machine on the YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9P4hc4oKWHkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4Qx5cX0SgM All pictures are of the actual item you will receive.
