SIGNED Book Lynette Fromme REFLEXION Charles Manson Family Memoir RARE AUTOGRAPH
Item History & Price
You are bidding on an autographed first edition of:
Reflexion by Lynette Fromme. Peasenhall Press, 2018. 1st printing, sewn hardcover in dust jacket, 478 pages printed on acid-free recycled paper. ISBN: 9780991372515.
Notice to book collectors: The author of this autobiography does not seek attention or publicity, so you're not going to find her signing books at any bookstores or events whatsoever. Simply put, unless you know her personally or corresponded with her during he...r incarceration (as I did), this will be your only opportunity to obtain a signed copy.
This is a different kind of true crime book. The author has chosen to focus on what daily life was like in the so-called Manson Family in 1967, 1968, and 1969. 'Red' doesn't sugar-coat everything, but she definitely avoids writing about the Sharon Tate and LaBianca murders. She also barely mentions her attempted assassination of President Gerald Ford, for which she spent decades in prison. Instead, this book is a well-written account of being a hitch-hiking hippie in the late 1960s. Sometimes her writing is poetic and sometimes it's preachy (in a good way), especially when addressing environmental issues. Supplemented with passages written by Charlie, Sandra 'Blue' Good, Patricia 'Katie' Krenwinkel, Cappy, Clem, and others who lived at the Spahn Ranch, Dennis Wilson's house, the Spiral Staircase, and Barker Ranch.

Info from the dustjacket: You likely heard about the murders. This book is what happened before and after them along California's beaches and bluffs, San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury, the redwoods, Topanga Canyon, Beverly Hills, the Santa Susana Mountains, and the outback of the Mojave Desert. It's about the Charles Manson I perceived, and a gathering of people preparing to survive either a revolution, or the static institutions that were systematically trading all of our vital necessities for money.
