Vintage Coleman 228H Gold Bond Lantern with clam case. Lantern is dated 12-73 on bottom.
I just recently acquired this lantern at a local estate sale. I believe this lantern to have never been used because when I purchased this item there was a piece of paper inside of the case that said "Yellow Lantern NEW". I cannot guarantee that this lantern has never been used or that this lantern has no issues and works perfectly so this item is being sold as is. I am not very familiar with th...ese lanterns so I do not want to take a chance on damaging anything by trying to test this item. I have found 1 minor flaw on this lantern "a small scuff mark" that is located towards the base of the lantern under the oil valve (Please see picture). There are some surface marks on the bottom of the lantern from the lantern sitting on a table which I assume is very common. The clam case for the lantern does have some black scuffs on it. Typically these lanterns will have some chipping, or paint lose on them and this one appears to be in really great shape. Please see the pictures for details as it represents an accurate description of this item. It is truly an amazing lantern that I hope you will appreciate.
