Made by Picchiani & Barlacchi of Florence - a sure sign of quality - this badge commemorates the Ippodromo di Agnano racecourse in Naples and features a horse's head inside a horseshoe with red and enamel background.
The maker's name is on the back.
There is a small chip in the enamel next to the horse's mane, but otherwise in very good condition.
It is currently unpolished so the choice is up to the buyer. You can see from the fixing at the back, which I have polished, ho...w good it would look if the horse and horseshoe were similarly shiny.
