Gorgeous example of this hard to find scarce African American variation of the desirable Marx Funny Fire Fighters toy.
This is a pre war (1930's) toy made out of tin and celluloid. All original & complete. No replaced parts.
Bright vibrant and colorful tin litho. The African American figures are wearing boxing gloves. The figures have all their original paint and have NO dents, chips, broken or replaced parts. They are very close to MINT cond...ition. Check out their wide open white eyes. The arms are articulated on both figures and move freely when the toy is in action. The driver rocks from heel to toe and the ladder rotates depending on the direction and action of the toy.
The toy works very well and as it should. Wind it up with it's fixed key and the firetruck advances forward with mystery action, doing wheelies and making sharp turns as it goes.
Measures 7 inches long and 10 inches high.
