Rare 1890 J H Dallmeyer, London, Full Plate Wooden Tailboard Field CameraFor sale Rare 1890 J H Dallmeyer, London, Full Plate Wooden Tailboard Field Camera. J. H. Dallmeyer is a well known name for their famous brass lenses, although small in numbers their wooden Field Cameras are equally famous for the craftmanship and ease of use. This Camera is from 1890 and was made for the tropical climate of British India. When collapsed Camera measures- 4½x1...0¾x11½ inches; the ground glass screen measures- 6½x8½ inches, it weighs 4kg. The leather bellows looks original and extends to 23½ inches and is without any light leaks. Due to vagaries of age and handling Camera has slight issues, there is a 4cm crack on a back standard strip see last pic above although the strip is still firm and sturdy. The the fiber lining in the front and back of camera may need to be changed and is available in most stores, otherwise Camera is in good condition. Other than what is seen in the photos there are No other extra accessories with this camera. Hard to find collector' s gem.
