Vintage "Grandmother’s Flower Garden” Cotton Feed Sack QuiltHand Sewn Hexagons 94" x 68"
Authentic vintage “Grandmother’s Flower Garden" is a pieced hexagonal multicolored all-cotton quilt. The hexagonal pieces and quilting are all hand-sewn, no machine sewing. The design pattern consists of 76 9” 'flowers, ' and 8 'half flowers' at long ends. Each flower is made from small 1 1/2" to 2" six-sided hexagon shaped colored cotton patches. The backing is white co...tton and interior is cotton batting. Patterned feed sack cloth and solid colored fabric make up these patches. I believe all flowers use unique fabric patch combinations only once, and are not repeated. The edges are turned under toward the batting and are carefully whipstitched together. In very good to excellent condition. See condition description and photos.
