A remarkable find even in this damaged condition, a bronze statue of Iowa football legend Nile Kinnick cast in 1940, designed (according to a newspaper headline) by a sculptor named Schenk and given to members of the 1939 team and donors to the program. There were certainly a limited number of these. The base shows the 1939 schedule and final scores, and it is detached from the sculpture at the foot. The right hand of the statue is also missing. Definitely worthy... of restoration as this piece turns does. not turn up. The base measures apx 3 1/8 x 4 1/4 and the statue is apx. 8 1/2 inches tall, and besides the obvious damage the surface is clean. The break on the foot from the base is a clean break with no extra material lost. The hand is another issue, but there are photographs on-line that can aid in the restoration process. This will be shipped with the utmost care and double-box. I have added to the shipping a $3 surcharge for insurance. Postage in the 50 United States is by weight for parcel post / priority ~~outside the US by weight or the global shipping option. On Apr-30-19 at 13:23:42 PDT, seller added the following information:Sorry, but the action does not include the paper items referenceOn Apr-30-19 at 13:24:52 PDT, seller added the following information:Sorry, but the auction does not include the two paper items referenced in the last photos.
