Vintage C1915 " Imperial Model B " Typewriter With Base & Case

This "Imperial Model B" typewriter has its' tin cover and wooden base.The "Imperial Typewriter Company" was founded by Hidalgo Moya. After first building the Moya typewriter, he set up the Imperial Typewriter Company in Leicester, England in 1908, the company ceased manufacturing typewriters in 1974.All of the original keys are present and the letters, numbers etc are still clear and legible, although, there is staining to some. The type bars move when the keys are depressed firmly an...d strike the platen. The carriage doesn't move along move when typing, but does move when pushed or the release is used. The carriage return cord appears to be broken.The machine has both its' ribbon holders and a ribbon.It has retained much of its' original black paint work, however, there is a little wear mainly to the front edge.The chrome and metalwork has retained much of its' original finish, however, there some blemishes and a little surface rust in places.The gilt lettering has still retained a good colour although the "B" has faded and the patent numbers have faded.I have tried to show the condition in the photographs.The typewriter has the serial number 21968.The tin cover has retained lost some of its' black japanned finish to the front and top, but the gilt lettering and logo to the front, although faded, is still legible.The handle is well attached and the catch still works.
