PLUMBE’S PATENT OCT 22 1842 RARE DAGUERREOTYPE HANDSOME STUNNING EARLY POSE DAG
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:746088 | Photo Type: Daguerreotype |
I’ve had a handful of these 1842 John Plumbe daguerreotypes in my 38 years of collecting and 26 years of dealing. This is the one with the worst condition problems of the ones I’ve handled.
However, this is BY FAR THE MOST INTERESTING of the 1842 Plumbe daguerreotypes I’ve handled because:1) This sitter is super handsome and photogenic2) The off-center and unusual composition3) He’s draped in an unusual garment, giv...ing him the look of an artiste4) The exquisite marine-themed painted backdrop that look so realistic.
THIS IS SIMPLY A STUNNING DAGUERREOTYPE.
