Paperbacks are in VG condition. Box is in Good condition. I'm not sure where this falls on the continuum of Lord of the Rings box sets. The box is simple and it is sturdy. There is a sticker pull on the spine.

Fellowship is First Printing October 1965 VG minuscondition
Two Towers is Seventh US printing VG Plus condition
Return is Seventh US printing also VG Plus condition
The Slipcase/Box has a couple of small tears along the top upper edge and some very minoredge wear. If not for that sticker pull, it would also be VG. It's sturdy andsolid.I am not a Tolkien expert, but according to my research, "Ballantine Books hurriedlyissued the first authorized paperback edition of The Lord of the Rings in theUnited States in 1965, in response to the illegally issued Ace Paperbacksedition." As far as I am aware, this is the very firstBallantine slipcase. It's a sturdy, simplegreen box with the wording, "Authorized Edition Complete in Three Volumes, " on the sideof the slipcase.Thank you, everyone for your questions and information.
