This salt box has a hinged wooden lid and a hole in the back for hanging. I found no chips, cracks or repairs - it is in excellent vintage, used condition with slight wear on the wood lid. Diameter across back is about 5 3/4". Front to back measurement is about 3 3/4". I'm not sure if it is made of stoneware or unglazed porcelain.Bubble wrap and packing peanuts are used with all fragile items. The first $100 of insurance on Priority Mail is free for U.S. buyers ...in most cases. The purchase of additional insurance is the responsibility of the buyer and must be requested before payment is made. There is NO handling fee for packing and shipping.
