This superb quality double shotgun motor or rifle case is constructed of leather covered oak with a solid brass corners, handle plates, lock and "D" rings. The central catch works, unfortunately, the key is missing.The leather over the hinges at the back is solid and the lid is well attached.The handle is firmly attached and feels solid. The straps and their anchor points are present and well attached, the waxed cotton stitching appears to be in good order.The leather has developed a ...fabulous patina and depth of colour over the years, however, it does have the scuffs, marks and scratches that you would expect from a well used item of this age and use.I have tried to show the condition in the photographs.The lid is embossed with the original owners name and initials.There is also a "W. W. Greener" paper label to top of the lid as well as a "W. W. Greener" trade ladel to the inside of the lid.The interior has a red baize lining, this does have some holes, scuffs and staining.The case measures 83.5 cm (33 inches) long and is 33 cm (13 inches) wide. It is 9 cm (3 1/2 inches) deep, externally.Internally, the barrel length to th stops, is 78 cm (30 3/4 inches) and the stock length is 51 cm (20 inches). Vintage ~ c1910 ~ "W. W.
