Fred H. BECKLEY, Handwritten Diary, 1875, Lee Center, Oneida County, New York. This is the handwritten diary of Fred H. Beckley, who lived in Lee Center, New York. The size is about 3 in. x 5 in. The diary itself is for the year 1874 but Fred has used it to record the events of his life from 9 April 1874 (presumably when he purchased the diary) through to the end of 1874. He then began 1 January 1875 in the Memorandum pages and continued through 22 Jan...uary 1875. Then he goes to the beginning of the diary and gives entries for the period from 1 February 1875 to 29 April 1875. It is a typical farmer’s pocket diary. Some of the names mentioned are as follows: Ben Cross, Silas Cornish, Jasper Ferguson, John Ferguson, Daniel Countryman, Charles Pratt, John Castle, Dan Castle, and Robert Wilson.
