This listing is for one of my prints of the Launch Poster for the NeXT Computer from 1988. It is an exact replica of the original down to the size, paper weight and even paper colour of the original. It is so good that when I came to frame my original poster I decided to use a print instead and keep the original safely stored in its original black tube.
30 years ago Steve Jobs hosted the launch of his brand new computer system - The NeXT Computer. This was a unique period in Jobs' l...ife, having left Apple three years earlier to found his own company, NeXT Inc. This computer was also unique, not only was it way ahead of its time but also that it was used by Tim Berners-Lee to build the very first web server and browser, effectively inventing the World Wide Web.
This poster was ONLY given out to delegates of the Launch event in San Francisco in 1988. You can read all about it on Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NeXT_Introduction.
As such they are EXTREMELY rare - especially in good condition. Here is the entry from the Computer History Museum's web site:
http://www.computerhistory.org/collections/catalog/102642370.
Along with my original poster I also have all the provenance that came from the event, invitations, letters, agenda, even a NeXT branded napkin.
I will provide to the winning buyer:
One of my exact replica prints of the posterA replica black poster tube (like the ones that they handed out at the event)Copies of all the provenance documents
The items will be shipped in a heavy duty poster tube to avoid the possibility of any damage. Bear in mind that this may increase delivery charges, especially to international destinations. I have listed the standard UK and USA postage prices but can send worldwide. Please check with me first for other shipping destinations and/or methods.
A piece of true computing history - 30 years old!
PLEASE NOTE: This listing is for my exact replica copy poster - NOT the original. This item is NOT framed.
