This rare "T. J. Watkins Patent" "Pellet Box" was used for dispensing tins of air gun pellets. It has a solid oak case and door with solid brass fittings, a glass window to check the stock levels.The lock is still present but there is no key. Unfortunately, the dispensing drawer and shelf are missing, however, the original glass is intact with no chips or cracks that I can find and the impressed lettering is still clear and legible.The hinged lid is well attached, however, there is a ...small piece of missing wood to the moulding underneath one corner and there are also the scuffs, marks and dings you would expect from a well used item of this age.The oak has taken on a lovely depth of colour and patina that only comes with true age and use.It measures 32.5 cm (12 3/4 inches) high. Dispenser This rare "T. J. Watkins Patent" "Pellet Box" was used for dispensing tins of air gun pellets. It has a solid oak case and door with solid brass fittings, a glass window to check the stock levels.
The lock is still present but there is no key. Unfortunately, the dispensing drawer and shelf are missing, however, the original glass is intact with no chips or cracks that I can find and the impressed lettering is still clear and legible.
The hinged lid is well attached, however, there is a small piece of missing wood to the moulding underneath one corner and there are also the scuffs, marks and dings you would expect from a well used item of this age.
The oak has taken on a lovely depth of colour and patina that only comes with true age and use.It measures 32.5 cm (12 3/4 inches) high.
