TRS - 80 VoxBox Software On Cassette And Diskette, Includes CUSTOM Software
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:7128567 | Brand: RadioShack |
Included in this lot are the original Radio Shack TRS-80 Vox Box cassette, with Lunar Lander and Inventory Demo programs,
and a 5.25" diskette with my own custom software.
If you have a working VoxBox, you'll be especially interested in the custom software. I wrote a machine-language program that allows you to save the "training" of the VoxBox, so you don't have to re-train it each time! You can just load up a previously-saved copy of the training; you can even train f...or multiple users, saving each training image to a separate file. This machine-language routine is meant to included in your own custom software or used with the include game (see below).
In addition to the training program, there's a cute and silly VoxBox-driven game I wrote, "Robot Mouse Meets Darth Vader", which tasks the user with talking "Robot Mouse" through a maze to the controls of the Death Star. I put an insane amount of work into the graphics, even doing the title in the receding motif of the movie titles (as much as TRS-80 graphics would allow, anyway).
Source code for Robot Mouse, the training, and more is included.
Diskette is in NewDos/80 2.0 Model-1 Format (which can also be read on a Model-3 or Model-4 with the correct pdrive settings).
I don't have access to a working TRS-80 to test either of these media, and due to their age, I can't guarantee they're still readable, but both are in excellent physical shape. They've been lovingly stored in a climate-controlled, smoke-free environment all these years.
This is a fantastic piece of history and useful software for the TRS-80 or vintage computing enthusiast!
