Original Description:
A fine hardwood bullroarer with carved concentric circles, tracks, and barrs of lines. Hand made hole for hair string attachment. This ancient musical instrument is held above the head and twirled in a circular motion to make the characteristic roaring vibrator which would have been used in ritual & ceremonies to ward off evil spirits. Worn surface with red ochre and emu fat surface. Meas: 37 X 7cms.
