This violin is in very good condition. There are no visible repairs. No cracks. Two of the pegs appear to be a bit loose. There are two stickers inside of the body. One is reading:"Anno 1731(?) Carlo Bergonzi tece in Cremona. The other one is hard to decipher but it most likely reads:"durch Heinrich SelbachErfurt 1869"Which translates into:"by Heinrich Selbach Erfurt 1869" with one wo...rd on top being not recognizable by usThere is also a pressed mark in wood on the lower bout reading: "GERMANY".Becker's chin rest style
Of course it s not a violin made by famous Carlo Bergozi of Cremona, but instrument copied in Germany during the 19th Century from the original. At some point in history, the violin could be seen or heard in Erfurt, Germany (manufactured by, repaired by or belonged to Heinrich Selbach living in this city).
Nice, well maintained 150 (or more) years old instrument
