This is a vintage ring previously owned by my aunt, so I am personally familiar with this ring and it was passed down to me upon her death.
It was was originally appraised in 1972 with a total weight of 3 carats at $2, 850.00 (I have the original appraisal and each diamond is broken down into its... individual weight.
I also had it appraised myself in 2004 (32 years later), at which time it was appraised at $6, 650.00. The diamonds were appraised as follows:1) 0.63 ct. H in color and SI-1 in clarity 9.5 x 4.3 x 2.33 mm2) 0.42 ct. H in color and SI-1 in clarity 8.5 x 3.5 mm3) 0.42 ct. H in color and SI-2 in clarity 8.5 x 3.5 mm4) 0.30 ct. H in color and SI-1 in clarity 7 x 3.5 mm5) 0.30 ct, H in color and SI-1 in clarity 7 x 3.5 mm6, 7, 8, 9) 0.06 ct. each measuring 4.25 mm each H in color and SI-1 in clarity.
This is based on Gemological Institute of America. There is a slight difference between the two appraisals for whatever reason and that is why I listed the total carats between 2.5 and 3. I have both original appraisals and will furnish them to serious potential buyers and the originals will go to the buyer.
The ring has not been worn since I inherited it and I believe it is time to give it up to someone who will show it some love. My aunt and uncle were married for over 50 years and they certainly had plenty of that between them :)
