This auction is for ONE top of the line WESTERN ELECTRIC 205-D audio tube ETCHED GLASS - the tube comes in its ORIGINAL BOX.
TESTS VERY STRONG at 56 / 37 on a Hickok TV-7 B/U tester with NO GAS and NO SHORTS. This is a beautiful tube with the name etched around the bulb. This is an EARLY PRE-GETTER tube with some normal darkening on the glass. Please see the photos.
This tube and the others in our auctions are the BEST of my personal collection. We purchased this 205-D t...ube 25 years ago from a close friend who was a European audio engineer whose tubes were first rate. I can guarantee that this tube was only used in the audio section and never as a rectifier. Our friend took it out of service 80 years ago and never used it in his own 46-B amplifier. You can see from the strength of the test at 56/37 that the tube saw very limited service. This is an EARLY PRE-GETTER TUBE with some darkening on the glass and will give you long excellent service.
