Please be sure to review all my other auctions after you have looked at this one!  I will be listing a broad and diverse range of vintage communications and technology items, related books, periodicals and ephemera...  Something for everyone!This is a well preserved piece of wireless history: a scarce, longwave, loose coupled receiving transformer manufactured by F.B. Chambers & Co. of Philadelphia! Here you have the Chambers Undamped Wave Loose Coupler Type 749! Very few it...ems like this from Chambers remain in existence... The device is about 32" long, stands about 10" to the top of the slide binding posts and is about 9" deep. One of the photographs compares the size of this receiving transformer versus the more common Type 748. (The type 748 is not included in this auction!) Overall, the condition is excellent, especially when you consider that this item is well over 100 years old! There is one humidity crack in the wood which is detailed in the photographs, but this does not detract from anything. You can clamp and glue or leave it alone...which I have chosen to do...Crisp F. B. Chambers markings are located on the base of the loose coupler! I have tried to take good photographs and I believe they accurately represent the condition of this piece. If you have any questions, please ask!If you collect F.B. Chambers or simply appreciate the pure, fundamental art of early wireless components, this belongs in your collection!! It is not likely that you will ever see another example in your collecting life...Properly packaged to arrive safely at your door, shipping weight will be about 19 pounds.I will pack all items properly and with great care.  I have been shipping these kind of vintage items worldwide since the late 1980's.  Buyers are responsible for shipping, insurance and material costs and any applicable duties.
