Images one throughthree show details of a plant in nature in western Panama, and my stockspecimen plant flowering in a California greenhouse. The plant for sale is awell-established division shown in the fourth and fifth images, planted in pureNZ sphagnum moss in a 4” plastic pot. Longest leaf shown, 14"/35 cm.
Anthurium nervatum isa very striking, large to giant leaf (to over 4’/1.20 m long) western Panamanian epiphytic aroid.It is very closely related to its better-known sibli...ng species, A. spectabile andA. pseudospectabile and they all occasionally occur close to one another, although atdifferent elevations. The spathe of this species is very dark, often almostblack. This specimen is an offset from a seed grown plant grown from an accession thatwas made in the 1990s on the Caribbean side of the Continental Divide inVeraguas Province. This is an exceptionally desirable species for rare aroidcollectors and is almost never offered for sale. To my knowledge, there are onlytwo original accession lines in the United States, both of which arerepresented in my personal collection. This is a winner! and a must havespecies for collectors of pendant aroids and is easily grown under a wide rangeof temperature regimens from cool-intermediate to fully warm tropical.All plants offered are greenhouse grown on benches in the San FranciscoBay Area, California.Shipping: Plants will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail withtracking number for physical addresses within three working days of receipt ofpayment, weather permitting. 72-hour heat packs are available for an additionalUSD 6.00 eachWherever possible, plants will beshipped in plastic pots.
