AntiqueSilver Sewing Set Germany* Circa 1900s This prettyneedlework toolset has all of the original pieces which include a needle case, scissors, stilettoand thimble. Thesilver on the stiletto, needle case and scissors is stamped with thecrescent moon and crown hallmark for Germany 800/1000 pure silver.The thimble is marked "835". All four pieces have the maker's marks forLutz& Weiss of Pforzheim. The stiletto has a bone* shaft and point. ... The matchingtools are all embossed withscrolling rose designs. The scissors are 3 3/8" long and cutbeautifully to the tips. Thethimble is crisp and in roundwith no holes or dents. It is aboutan American size 9-10 (16.3 mm diameter opening). Thepieces are all in amazingcondition and I don't think have ever been used. The box is inthe form of a scallop shelland is lined with the original velvet and satin. It has a mirror in thetop and is in greatcondition inside and out.The box closes with two flip down brass clasps and itmeasures 51/8" x 5 7/8". *Thisitem is made of bone from a domestic cow (bovine) and not from anendangeredspecies.
