The Heathkit Model ID-2090 Digital Barograph is a microprocessor-based instrument that can display the atmospheric pressure in inches of mercury and in millibars or kilopascals. A temperature-controlled oven maintains high accuracy by minimizing the effects of changing ambient temperatures. The display shows the time and date and can be used to diplay the 'High' and 'Low' recordings. Switches at... the rear of the cabinet allow you to display the pressure in inches of mercury or millibars. An LED on the front panel will show which function is being displayed. An internal 9-V battery protects the unit against loss of memory during a temporary power failure by providing power to the memory circuits. Read the manual before playing with this - the pen does NOT function until AFTER the oven has reached temperature. This is the way it is supposed to work. We discovered this the 'hard' way...
Barometric pressure is recorded on a 4-inch chart using a disposable pen. The user has a choice of a 7-day or 31-day chart by reversing the idler gear. Recorded pressure allows you to observe changes and trends that occur and provides a permanent record of the readings.
This unit is fully functional and in extremely good condition. The original user modified the unit by adding hidden switches to turn off the drum clock-motor and/or pen motor. This is a feature that should have been included by Heathkit originally. The mod looks very good as you can see in picture 5. There are several unused charts for both the 7-day and the 31-day options. We will also include a 'lifetime supply' of charts by including a scanned copy of each chart. You can simply print out new charts on legal size paper and hold them in place with some transparent tape after cutting them out. Also includes a new 'Re-Issue' copy of the manual.
In my 30 years of Heathkit, I have only ever seen one other ID-2090 on eBay that sold for about the same Buy-It-Now price being asked. The unit will be carefully packed to arrive in same condition you see here.
