When I first saw this doll I was smitten with her clothing! Oh yes, she is a very pretty girl, but it was her costume that attracted me. With its rows of lacy ruffles and matching wide brimmed bonnet, how could I not be enamored? After all, it’s not that often that you find an antique doll in dating to the 1800’s in what is apparently her all original clothes! So, maybe I paid a little too much! My thought was to perhaps dress another doll in her splendid garments. But in the end, ...I couldn’t bear to separate the two, as the doll looks so perfect and original. Now it’s your turn to make that decision!Here we have an antique German papier-mâché doll, with this great outfit, brown glass eyes, and her original blonde mohair wig! Standing 15” tall, she has a papier-mâché socket head, elastic string jointed wood arms, and a light weight, cloth covered composition body and disk jointed legs. Her fancy blue dress and bonnet are faded and a bit yellowed, but they look pretty grand for being over a hundred years old! The dress fastens in back with a single safety pin. Her frilly bib collar frames her lovely face nicely, as does her fancy bonnet. She even has her original blue socks, but no shoes.
