Here is a somewhat rare and awesome find - a wonderful antique English walnut draw leaf table, in the style more commonly manufactured in oak during the early twentieth century across the United Kingdom. This beauty originally wore the darker stain still shown on the two draw leaves which must have always been stored protected by the sun, while the rest of the table gradually cured with light over time to more of a dark honey colors, a shade light enough to let the gorgeous wood grains... on the table top boards show through.
The table was probably covered with a table cloth when the table was open to it's full nine foot long banquet size (108 inches) as most new owners would plan to do, making the difference in finish from the leaves mute. In it's closed five foot length (60 inches), this delightful table still affords plenty of seating for guests with it's full 46 3/4 inches width and a height of 29 1/4 inches with a straight leg at the corners design and 23 1/2 inches clearance below the shirt which accommodates use of most chairs.
