Vintage Wizard Of Oz Antique Denslow Scarecrow 1987 Rob Roy (MacVeigh) productions book shelf.Measures 19” tall x 14 1/8” at widest part x almost 6” deep. The area which holds the books is smaller, measuring 10.5” long x 4 3/8” deep. There is only one other Scarecrow book shelf in existence that we know of, owned in one of the largest collections. We know that Rob Roy also made a Tinman bookshelf, as it was available for purchase when we got this, similar in design.I personal...ly bought this in the late 80s from a Seattle bookstore, Where Rob Roy was originally stationed.I was able to clean all the tape off the back very carefully which was in the original pictures. New pictures posted of the signature. We also added the picture hanger on the back, years ago. Please note that there is a teeny-tiny breakthrough in the wood, on part of his hat, where the nail went through, but you don’t even notice this unless you feel over it with your finger.Please let me know if you have any other questions or would like more pictures. Rob Roy MacVeigh(1955-1992)Rob Roy MacVeigh was one of the Oz Club’s most creative artists and one of its most active and beloved members. Rob’s work for the Club included articles and art for The Baum Bugle; convention decorations; and logos for posters, programs, and T-shirts. Rob produced and illustrated most of the individual verse renderings of the Oz books created by Fred Otto for The Oziad.
In 1981 Rob founded Rob Roy Productions in Seattle. Over the next decade, the firm expanded into a broad-based graphic house, producing a series of 30-second public service announcements for the Seattle Public Library featuring the Oz characters. Rob’s lifelong—and, unfortunately, unfulfilled—dream was to create animated movies faithful to the authors and illustrators of Oz. He made considerable progress in developing the full storyboard sequence for his version of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and a musical score was written and recorded for the overture and the individual character themes.Buyer to pay shipping and insurance.
