Order of the British Empire Commander CBE Medal w/ DOCS & Garrard & Co Box A vintage 1964 Order of the British Empire Commander CBE Medal with box and documentation. Awarded to Marie Louise Fordham CBE, an Englishwomen who chaired the British Mexican Society (1969-1973) and worked on British relations with various South American countries. Please check out our other listings for other prestigious South American medals awarded to the same individual. Includes 7 correspondence letters regarding t...he investiture ceremony and the return of a lower ranking officer's medal. Also included is a Order of the British Empire statutes book. Medal is in original box from Garrad & Co. and includes neck ribbon and two miniature medals. One of the miniatures is a CBE medal and the other is all bronze and is probably her old officer's medal. Medal composition is enamel and gold washed high grade silver (probably sterling) but is not hallmarked and does not appear to bear any makers marks. Miniature medals are both marked "SPINK & SON Ltd" on pin backs. All 3 medals are in excellent condition with fraying to the ends of the ribbons.
