THE HOLY GRAIL OF FIGURINES!
RARE ORIGINAL1958-1963 DICK GROAT PIRATES HARTLAND FIGURINE STATUELast one of 3 I own! Other 2 sold between $1, 000 and $1, 250
This isby far the toughest statue to find of the original Hartland Plastics baseballplayer series of the late 50's/early 60's. It's of the Pittsburgh Pirates DickGroat. It is the opinion of many collectors that the original Hartland Plastics baseballstatues are some of the finest figural sports items... in the hobby. The attentionto detail facially and body type is amazing. This Dick Groat statue isthe hardest to find of their original 18 baseball players and sometimes called “The Holy Grail” of figurines. Some minor imperfections on arm as most have these. Slight / light loss of paint on the 2 number. Still overall a very nice Groat figurine.
The centerpiece to any Hartland assortment, this particular example isone of only approximately 5, 000 issued in the original 18-player set.
It shows Groat in his Pittsburgh Pirates uniform - the team he wonthe MVP award for in 1960. The uniform color is mildly off-white to cream incolor. The paint is very good, the statue stands perfectly on its own and it comeswith its original bat. It's just a gorgeous example of this hard to find piece. If you've been looking for a Groat to complete your set, this might be the lotfor you It comes with its original bat and a Dick Groat repo Hartland tag. No box as these are almost impossible to find and are very rare. The same Groat figurine is shown with different backgrounds for additional pictures to view.

On Aug-12-19 at 16:57:52 PDT, seller added the following information:Added description: When looking at the Groat Statue, I am not sure but there may be a chance that the right arm (Black sleeve) was retouched. I am only mentioning this as I noticed it when beginning to prepare for packaging since I know there is a bid and the bidder has been notified. I wanted to reach out, although not positive, that this is just my observation. I've owned this for a while now but has been kept in safe storage. I strive for 5 star 100% feedback and try to be as honest as possible. I have added 2 closer shots of the area of concern.
