I originally paid over $2, 000 for this set last year. Unfortunately need to sell for schooling. A truly exceptional and rare find, this very high quality vintage wedding set is dazzling with glamorous sparkle and classically elegant in design! Dating back to 1937-1938, the rings are artfully crafted by hand and engraved with dates and signatures. Graded E-F VS, the diamonds are all exceptional quality, extremely clean and brilliantly white. As Old Transitional cut diamonds they ...are hand cut, completely unique, and extremely rare; this cut was only produced for a very short period. The platinum settings are classic and refined, utterly timeless! This stunning pair of rings are an excellent choice for a wedding set that is not only classic and dazzlingly beautiful, but also enduring, imbued with history and meaning. The 0.55ct center diamond is exceptionally clean. Graded VS1 for clarity, it is difficult to find any inclusions even under 10x magnification. Graded F for color, it is also remarkably white and stands out brilliantly against any background. Its hand cut facets deliver truly phenomenal eye-catching sparkle and pretty flashes of fire! The 0.25ctw of accent diamonds on the engagement ring and wedding band are also remarkable quality. Graded E-F, they are bright white, very comparable to perfect D color. Graded VS for clarity, it is difficult to find any inclusions on these rings even under 10x magnification! The rings are both made from solid platinum and are hand engraved with signatures and the dates “12.3.37” and “6.25.38.” They are both stamped “Peacock” for the historic Chicago jeweler C.D. Peacock, Chicago’s oldest existing retailer, established in 1837. As a well respected jeweler, C.D. Peacock took care to use metal and diamonds of outstanding quality. The engagement ring measures 5.4mm across (north south) and 5.2mm from finger to top. The wedding band measures 1.9mm across (north south) and 1.5mm from finger to top.
