This is a lovely imposing time recording clock that has been restored and mechanically overhauled by a master clockmaker who is B.H.I . qualified since 1983 and has worked for Royalty and noted celebrities alik...e. The movement, numbered 9004, has been sympathetically cleaned and overhauled and the original gilded finish has been left in situ so retaining its original appearance. The time recording part has also been carefully cleaned and re-oiled prior to being refitted to the case. There is an original ink ribbon and a paper roll, wound around a wooden bobbin, fitted into and adjacent to the, cable driven from the movement, time recorder.
A large, 58" x 17 1/2" x 7 1/4 " (147cms x 45cms x 18.5cms) predominately oak case houses the movement's for the clock and time recorder. Said case has two tone features with detail executed in a darker colour so making the detail stand out and creating a very very attractive clock. The half glazed door has the oval opening for the time key opening and around this is carved decoration and the legend 'Bundy Time Recorder' Bundy Manufacturing Co.' Binghamton NY. USA'. All of the mouldings are in very good condition and, considering the clock is nigh on 120 years old, has fared well. There is patination commensurate with its age and this makes the clock what it is a highly delightful and collectable wall clock.
The dial with Roman numerals and in nice legible original condition. It is marked 'Bundy Time Recorder' and 'The British Bundy Co. London' along with 'Made In United States'. A pair of blued steel spade style hands mark the passing of the hours. A silvered patent plaque is placed below the dial mask noting the dates of various patents released to the Bundy Manufactoring Co.
A very nice clock that is working well and has all of the attributes that make this a highly desirable and collectable piece of American social history. It has its original winding key and there are four time keys included in the sale. Only selling as I have decided to move on several items I have had for many years and as I am getting older and our children have no interest then they have to go.The clock is very heavy, probably 20-30 kilos, so shipping won't be cheap to the U.S.A. so please send me your address details and I will be happy to get a quote for you.
Please study all images as these form part of the description. Any questions ask away and happy to help.
