Original Description:
For the collector - this is an authentic Spanish Naval 12 pounder, salvaged off of Galveston in the 1960's. Length is 7' 8" with a 4" bore. This cast iron piece weighs over 1500 pounds.
Parts for a reproduction naval carriage is included, with many of the hard to find metal fittings. Some rigging is included - one of the return tackle set ups, and the larger brake tackle. This cannon is filled with marine debris and cannot be shot. Trunnions corrode...d but can still bear the weight of the piece. There is no shipping on this item. Pickup only in Kempner, Texas. You will need a trailer. I have an engine hoist that we use to load it.Note: I have no written provenance on this piece. The previous owner purchased it from a salvage company on the coast while serving at Corpus Christi Army Depot. For the next 20 years, it was moved from post to post until the owner retired.
